Bits and bobs

"The One Minute Manager" by Ken Blanchard and Spencer Johnson

This book is not new, in fact it was originally published in 1982 but I believe it is still relevant today.

Using simple concepts like the One Minute Goals, One Minute Praising and One Minute Reprimands, it is a small but incredibly to the point and useful book about management and how to get big results from people in very little time.

In this digital age where everyone is asked to do more with less (and to do it yesterday), it is a quick read and a great tool for first time managers and small business owners who are starting to employ people.

Actually no, it is a great tool, period.
Read it.

  1. I agree Laura. It was and is a landmark work. I also recommend Eliyahu Goldratt's "The Goal" as a contemporary of Blanchard. - Tom Dimmick
