What will be the implication for employment regulations
 when we leave the EU?

European employment regulations and the free movement of labour have shaped the UK economy for decades now, so the implications of a potential Brexit are big.
Leaving the European Union is no longer a fantasy, it is real now following the referendum in June, Britain's future lies out of Europe.

Retaining access to the single market would probably mean continuing to oblige with a lot of the current rules.
Leaving the single market would give more control over immigration and likely make it harder for employers to hire people from overseas.

For now the prospect of Brexit means one thing: uncertainty, other real or produced by talking about what potentially could/would happen.

A few figures on Skilled worker UK visa applications by sector ( year ending 09/15):

  • 23.89% Information communication sector
  • 10.71% Professional, scientific and technical sector
  • 6.83% Financial and insurance sector
  • 3.33% Health and social work sector
  • 2.8% Education sector
  • 2.64% Manufacturing sector
  • 5.91% Other sectors
As an employer/business owner do you think that we would benefit from a different immigration policy (e.g. point-based system around skills needed) or from maintaining the status-quo (free-movement within EU) ?
